We conclude our series of articles on tamzara dances by presenting the tamzaras of Yerzenga/Erzindjan and Alashgerd. The Houshamadyan website now features detailed information on versions of the tamzara from a total of six localities: Kharpert/Harput, Palu, Malatya, Arapgir, Yerzenga/Erzindjan, and Alashgerd.
In addition to written instructions, the pages dedicated to the different versions of this dance feature short videos that provide additional instructions and a performance of each version.
The team of experts collaborating with Houshamadyan to prepare these pages consists of Carolyn Rapkievian (of Bar Harbor, Maine), Susan and Gary Lind-Sinanian (of Watertown, Massachusetts), Tom Bozigian (of Los Angeles, California), and Robert Haroutunian (of Sunnyside, New York).
